The premise is simple: people love beaches, and people love robots. So just as our ancestors have done with peanut butter and jelly, so shall we do with beaches and robots. Thus BeachBots was born. There is but one goal, which is to have fun. This is a celebration of friends, life, sunshine, and happiness.

As the name implies, what separates a beach bot from a normal robot is its purpose. Beach bots are designed for a beach environment. There are no rules or regulations. Your robot can be serious or it can be whimsical. It can do something awesome or just look pretty. It could be none of those things! Please refrain from hurting people or other bots though.

If you want to get involved, it's easy! If there is a beachbot event happening in your area, go check it out. If not, then grab some friends and start your own. Nobody owns beachbots, and it is in the spirit of friendship that we are building these things. If you don't live near a beach, don't worry! You can run your beachbot in a 'sandbox' environment. ;)
